This month DE-CIX turns 30! For three decades, we’ve pioneered, innovated, and expanded to deliver safe, reliable interconnection.
Starting with just three German internet service providers at a newly established Internet Exchange in Frankfurt in 1995, DE-CIX has evolved into a major international operator of Internet Exchanges and provider of interconnection services. We now connect a total of more than 4,000 networks.
A significant part of our success is rooted in the consistently strong performance and continuous development of the 'home base', with Frankfurt remaining the largest of our Internet Exchanges. However, DE-CIX's transition towards becoming a global player would not have been possible without the decision to expand internationally and enter new markets around the globe.
